* Baseball: C.B. Aycock 15, Wilson Hunt 1 (5 inn.) -- The sophomore trio of Zack Brewer, Cody Whaley and Blake Gipson combined for a one-hitter and six strikeouts during the Golden Falcons' mercy-rule shellacking of Hunt on Tuesday afternoon. Whaley earned the mound win. Caleb Matthews (RBI) and Luke Frederick (two RBI) paced the CBA offense with two hits apiece.. Tyler Daniels, Jakob Prebe (RBI), Jordan Gay (two RBI), Carson Smitherman, Kaleb Moore (two RBI) and Nick Aycock (two RBI) each contributed one hit.
Middle schools
* Girls' soccer: Dillard 7, Brogden 1 -- Dyamond George registered the hat trick (three goals) during Wayne County Middle School Athletics Conference play Tuesday afternoon. Shayla Greene punched in two goals. Aaliyah Carroll tallied one goal. Dillard (3-1-0 overall) entertains Greenwood on Thursday.
