Matthews, Kornegay each collect RBI in Aycock's home win

PIKEVILLE -- Chandler Matthews and Cameron Kornegay each drove in a run during Charles B. Aycock's 2-0, non-conference conquest of Hunt at Charles Davis Field on Tuesday afternoon.
Matthews (2-for-4) delivered a fourth-inning RBI single. Kornegay connected on his lone hit, an RBI shot, in the fifth.
Landon Casey and Kyle Davis provided two hits apiece.
Davis emerged as the winning pitcher. The senior right-hander limited the Warriors to three hits and logged four strikeouts in four innings on the bump. It was Davis' third decision of the season.
Jacob Sanford threw two innings of two-strikeout relief. Ashton McGee earned the save with one inning of one-hit relief.
The Golden Falcons (6-0 overall) open Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference play Friday at Southern Wayne. The game time has been changed to 5:30 p.m.
