Clinton deals Spring Creek 5-1 loss

SEVEN SPRINGS -- Jonathan Wright scattered five hits and logged 13 strikeouts, leading Clinton to a 5-1, non-conference triumph over Spring Creek at "The Swamp" on Friday afternoon.
Wright threw 71 strikes during his 104-pitch outing.
Sawyer Smith, Kaden Geelen (RBI), Casey Whitfield, Matt Dupuy and Landon Smothers provided one hit apiece for the Gators. Geelen's RBI hit gave SC a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.
Smith worked five innings and surrendered three earned runs on five hits. He struck out four and endured the mound loss. Hunter Walker provided two innings of two-hit, three-strikeout relief.
The Gators stranded eight runners on base.
