North Duplin baseball crushes Neuse Charter

SMITHFIELD -- Colby Bass cranked out three hits and provided two RBI during North Duplin's 16-1, mercy-rule triumph over Neuse Charter in the Carolina 1-A Conference opener for both teams Thursday.
Hunter Thurston, DJ Morissey (RBI) and Caleb Cashwell (two RBI) each connected on two hits.
Eight of nine Rebels combined for 14 hits and each starter in the lineup scored at least one run.
