FOUR OAKS -- Cassandra Lassiter pounded out two extra-base hits and plated three runs during Charles B. Aycock's 8-5, non-conference triumph over eastern region 3-A nemesis South Johnston on Thursday evening.
Lassiter finished 3-for-4 with a double and triple.
Connor Vinson and Hannah Vinson (RBI) each registered two hits.
Pitt Community College signee Allie Phillips logged three strikeouts and didn't issue a walk during a complete-game performance inside the pitcher's circle.
One day earlier, Madison Walton and Allison Shingleton each swatted a home run as Aycock notched a 14-2, mercy-rule triumph over perennial 2-A power North Lenoir. Walton, Shingleton, Lassiter and Tamika Powell supplied two hits apiece.
Connor Vinson batted 4-for-5.
Taylor Waddell worked seven solid innings inside the pitcher's circle. She gave up one earned run on three hits and struck out eight NL batters.
The Golden Falcons (4-0 overall) return to action Monday at North Johnston.
