Community Christian knocked off Wayne Country Day, 3-0, in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon.
"The scoreline doesn't reflect the game," Chargers head coach Steve Ellis said. "We weathered the pressure we knew we would have at the start of the game, and two lapses cost us. The second half we opened out and had chances to do more that we didn't take.
"Overall, I was pleased with how we played, especially in the second half."
The Cyclones led 2-0 at the break and added one second-half goal.
Wayne Country Day (1-1-0 overall) returns to action Friday against Smithfield-Selma in The Brittany at the Gillette Soccer Complex in Wilson. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.
