Wise, Bartlett lead C.B. Aycock on GMGC links

Sophomore Nick Wise and Blake Bartlett carded identical 18-hole rounds of 76 and helped Charles B. Aycock place first overall in a six-team, season-opening meet played at Goldsboro Municipal Golf Course on Monday afternoon.
Bryce Jones carded a 78 and Mitchell Langston posted a 79 for the Golden Falcons, who shot a four-player total of 309. Jake Flowers (82) and Ty Daniels (84) also participated.
Wilson Beddingfield, led by medalist Steven Abrams' 68, claimed second in team competition with a 340. The Bruins were followed by meet host Eastern Wayne (362), defending Eastern Carolina 2-A champ Goldsboro (396) and Wayne Christian (468).
Southern Wayne did not have enough players to log a team score.
Nathan Coker emerged as Eastern Wayne's low scorer with an 89. Justin Whaley contributed a 90. Zack Lancaster and Drew Grady turned in 18-hole scores of 91 and 92, respectively. Austin Uzzell (94) and Noah Forrester (97) also represented the Warriors.
Ruben Quiroz paced Goldsboro with 90. Cameron Anderson turned in a 92. Ryan Kimble (99), Joseph Foy (115) and Reid Bennett (126) capped the Cougars' fourth-place effort.
Miciah Singletary led Wayne Christian with a 113. Teammates Logan Jackson (115), Adam Grady (120) and Braxton Flores (120) completed the Eagles' team score.
Clay Grady, Ryan Saylor and Justin Parks represented the Saints.
