Rosewood matmen earn non-conference split

Rosewood split a non-conference tri-meet against perennial 4-A powerhouse Holly Springs and former league foe Ayden-Grifton on Wednesday evening.
The Eagles defeated Ayden-Grifton 48-30, but lost to Holly Springs 39-33.
Blake Dean, heavyweight Kaleb Taylor, Chris Hill, Timothy Decatur-Luker, Tanner Smith, Jordan Todd, Merritt Long and Dylan Melgar each picked up an individual victory against Ayden-Grifton.
Hunter Weeks, Noah Carden, Dean, Taylor, Hill, Decatur-Luker and Todd each emerged victorious against Holly Springs. The Eagles led 30-3 in the overall match score, but surrendered six of the final matches contested.
Rosewood returns to action Saturday in the Falcon Invitational at Charles B. Aycock.
