Rosewood girls start strong, corral Dark Horses

JACKSONVILLE -- Rosewood opened the game with a 14-0 run and advanced to the East Coast Christmas Classic final with an 83-73 triumph over Clinton on Tuesday evening.

The Eagles (7-2 overall) take on tournament host Northside today.

Lexi Mercer logged a double-double -- 25 points, 16 rebounds. The Elon University signee also picked the Dark Horses for seven steals.

Jala Holloman scored 17 points, pulled down five rebounds and handed out three assists. Alyssa Garrison finished with nine points, three assists and two steals.

Tayzlie Tripple recorded eight points and four rebounds. Nekia Williams and Payton Lane scored seven points apiece.

Northside advanced to the championship with a 52-22 romp of Swansboro.
