* FAYETTEVILLE -- Southern Wayne's season ended with a 3-0, second-round loss to Terry Sanford in the N.C. High School Athletic Association Class 3-A playoffs Monday evening.
"It was a pretty good game," SW head coach Mario Aguilar said. "The first half we took a lot of shots, but the ball would not go in."
The Saints finished the season 10-7-4 overall.
Two county teams left
* Carolina 1-A Conference rivals Rosewood and Spring Creek continue their respective playoff journeys on Wednesday evening.
The 11th-seeded Eagles (16-5-1) travel to Tar-Roanoke Athletic Conference champion Granville Central. Meanwhile, the 29th-seeded Gators (9-13-0) visit Carolina Carolina champion James Kenan. The fifth-seeded Tigers (15-5-0) swept the regular-season series.
Each game kicks off at 6 p.m.
