WARSAW -- James Kenan scored the game-winning goal in the 65th minute and added a penalty kick two minutes later during its 4-2 victory over North Duplin in second-round play of the N.C. High School Athletic Association Class 1-A playoffs.
Kenan entertains Spring Creek on Tuesday.
Dario Castenada trimmed the Tigers' advantage to 2-1 with a goal off of Juan Garcia's assist 30 seconds after halftime. The two hooked up again in the 55th minute, which tied the game at 2-2.
A defensive misclear led to JK's third goal.
"I told my team that we had a great, our game has improved (and) our record was much better in just our second season of organized ball," second-year ND head coach James Foster said. "We lose five seniors, but have a good core group (of players) to build off of for next year."
The Rebels ended the year 11-9-1 overall.
