RALEIGH -- Sean Lockett delivered the game-winning goal as University of Mount Olive eliminated fifth-seeded King (Tenn.) University, 3-1, in a penalty-kick shootout during opening-round play of the 2015 Conference Carolinas men's soccer tournament.

The teams ended regulation and 10 overtime sessions locked in a scoreless draw. In the PK portion, the Trojans' Hyago Matielo and Malik Chune each scored. UMO goalie Nick Bernsdorf stopped King's first two shots and after a Trojan miss, Lockett drove home the game winning.

Bernsdorf got a glove on King's next attempt and it deflected off the post. It was Bernsdorf's second PK shootout during his career.

"In my head, I was thinking that it is not that big of a deal because I have always felt very confident on penalty kicks. I knew we were going to lead ourselves to victory," Bernsdorf said.

"Right now we are happy for this decision."

The Trojans (8-8-1 overall) return to action Friday against in-state rival Pfeiffer University, which is unbeaten and ranked No. 1 nationally in the latest NCAA Division II top 25 poll.
