Warriors' Pedrick finishes east regional runner-up in girls' XC

RED OAK -- Eastern Wayne senior Fiona Pedrick emerged as the runner-up in the N.C. High School Athletic Association Class 3-A eastern regional cross country championship meet contest at Red Oak Middle School.
Pedrick ran the 5k (5,000 meters) in 19 minutes, 22 seconds, and clinched a spot in next Saturday's NCHSAA state championship meet.
Complete state-qualifying information was not submitted to the News-Argus.
