Flowers throws for 230 yards in Aycock's road loss

NEW BERN -- Jake Flowers threw for 230 yards and two touchdowns as Charles B. Aycock dropped a 42-21 decision to Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference foe New Bern on Friday evening.
Flowers tossed a 50-yard touchdown pass to Damien Darden in the first quarter. He hooked up with Chandler Matthews for a 40-yard TD pass late in the third quarter.
Darden and Matthews combined for 150 receiving yards.
Caleb Gough paced the Golden Falcons' ground game with a hard-earned 81 yards on 19 carries. Aycock finished with 328 yards of total offense.
The Bears forced three turnovers and overcame 115 yards in penalties.
The Golden Falcons return home Friday to face J.H. Rose.
