Princeton launches defense of state 1A volleyball title with straight-set sweep

PRINCETON -- Princeton launched defense of its state championship with a 25-15, 25-18, 25-11 romp over Research Triangle in opening-round play of the N.C. High School Athletic Association Class 1-A volleyball playoffs Saturday afternoon.
Daisey Eklund pounded out a match-high 16 kills and served three aces. Kortney Edwards provided six kills and five digs. Kelsey Peedin dished out 25 assists.
The third-seeded Bulldogs (23-1 overall) continue play at home Tuesday.
