* Boys' soccer: Wayne Country Day 1, Ahoskie Ridgecroft -- Marquise Newell converted the game-winning penalty kick after Nehemiya Shaw drew a hard foul inside the 18-yard box. The Chargers (12-0-1 overall) collected their 10th shutout of the season.
* Volleyball: North Lenoir d. Ayden-Grifton 25-21, 25-14 -- Talyasia had four kills and Jlesa Sauls added three kills. The Hawks scored 11 points with Kelsie Stocks on serve.
* Volleyball: Lakewood d. Rosewood 25-16, 13-25, 25-18 -- Braylee Butts collected eight assists and two digs. Maddie Honn contributed three kills and one block. Jala Holloman and Toree Marak (three blocks, two aces) supplied two kills apiece. Alanna Atwell posted one kill. Rosewood (10-7 overall) improved to 7-4 against Carolina 1-A Conference opposition this season.
* Volleyball: North Duplin d. James Kenan 25-14, 25-13 -- North Duplin improved to 6-9 overall and 4-7 in Carolina 1-A Conference play.
* Volleyball: Freedom Christian d. Wayne Country Day 25-10, 25-12 -- Jaden DisDier scored two aces for the Chargers. Lexi Jeffreys (one ace), Kyara Drew (one kill), Maddison Britton (one kill, two digs) and Katie Strickland (two digs, two assists) also contributed during the two-set loss. WCDS (6-9 overall) faces Greenfield on Thursday.
Middle schools
* Volleyball: Norwayne d. Dillard 25-14, 25-9, 25-14 -- Norwayne (10-1 overall) entertains Eastern Wayne on Thursday.
* Boys' soccer: Norwayne 9, Dillard 0 -- The Cobras improved to 6-2-2 overall this season and play host to Eastern Wayne on Thursday.
* Volleyball: Wayne Country Day d. Freedom Christian 16-25, 25-23, 18-16 -- Katie Strickland led the Chargers with six service aces. Graysen Jeffreys served four aces and knocked down two kills. Cate Eagles provided four aces and two assists. Summer Daniels and Lexi Jeffreys also contributed to the win. The Chargers (11-1 overall) visit NECP on Monday.
