Rosewood played host to a four-team, non-conference match at Lane Tree Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon.
"While we typically play nine-hole matches, today's 18-hole match was mostly used to solidify season averages for several players that have or may go on to experience regional play," RHS head coach Shay Campbell said.
The teams also celebrated senior day. Players recognized were Rosewood's Lindsey Burton, Wayne Christian's tandem of Kelsey Sanders and Cassidy Davis, Anna Lee and Adriana Smith of Princeton and Tracey Smith of Goldsboro.
Burton and Shamayah Revis will represent RHS in the N.C. High School Athletic Association Classes 1-A/2-A regional at Lane Tree Golf Club next Monday. Play begins at 9 a.m.
"As we celebrated all of the seniors before the match started, I emphasized the importance of soaking it all in and to have a blast while playing today," Campbell said. "I think the girls did just that. There were lots of smiles considering the long (18-hole) walk. Seeing these girls compete, but at the end seeing the friendships they created throughout the season, that is just a great feeling."
Burton is seeking her fourth trip to the state tournament.
