GREENVILLE -- Eastern Wayne senior Fiona Pedrick continued her phenomenal season on the Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference cross country scene with another No. 1 finish in muggy, muddy conditions on Wednesday afternoon.

Pedrick ran the 5k course at Boyd Lee Park in 20 minutes, 22 seconds. She finished 65 seconds ahead of New Bern's Hannah Adams and 67 seconds ahead of South Central's Chloe Cox.

Pedrick has won all five meets.

Eastern Wayne's Paige Childers (28:09) and Olivia Durfey (28:17) placed among the top 60 individuals.

Charles B. Aycock teammates Mackenzie Stewart (25:08) and Sara Gregory (25:12) crossed the line in 22nd and 23rd, respectively.

Southern Wayne's tandem of Nadia Chestnut (25:23) and Ammi Perez (27:05) ended up 30th and 45th, respectively.

South Central edged New Bern 41-47 in the team portion of the meet. D.H. Conley took third with 56 points, followed by J.H. Rose (116), Aycock (145), Eastern Wayne (163) and Southern Wayne (171).

On the boys side, five Wayne County runners placed among the top 10.

Aycock's duo of Joseph Mooneyham (18:06) and John Parrish (18:51) took second and third, respectively. Parrish, who missed last week's meet due to an illness, shaved one minute off his personal-best time at Boyd Lee Park.

Southern Wayne's Bless Thomas turned in a fifth-place time of 19 minutes. Teammate Cole Atwood secured seventh place in 19:27. Eastern Wayne's Rudy Spears wasn't too far behind in 19:39.

The Golden Falcons' Hunter Crane (20:03) and Mitch Castorena (20:06) wound up 13th and 15th, respectively. Zack Childers was Eastern Wayne's next-highest finisher with a 32nd-place effort of 21:09.

The Saints' Anthony Womble and Jovani Gracia each finished the 5,000-meter run in 21:51.

New Bern, led by Parker White's fifth ECC win of the season, defeated Aycock 33-51 for first place in the team portion. D.H. Conley collected 96 points, followed by South Central (103), Southern Wayne (132), JH Rose (143) and Eastern Wayne (176).
