North Lenoir sweeps Goldsboro in ECC 2A opener for both teams

La GRANGE -- North Lenoir launched its Eastern Carolina 2-A Conference campaign with a 25-18, 25-13, 25-22 victory over Goldsboro inside Wooten Gym on Thursday evening.
"They're a good team, but we played the best we have all season," GHS head coach TJ Lancaster said. "I was very pleased."
Junior middle hitter Becka Pittard led the Cougars with 12 kills, eight digs, three aces and two blocks. Matti Rose Lyons contributed 13 assists and five digs.
Defensive leaders were Kaylee Lyons (eight digs), Dakota Jones (nine digs) and Riley Howell (six digs).
Goldsboro (2-10 overall, 0-1 ECC) plays host to Wayne Christian on Monday.
