Mercer flirts with double-double against Lakewood

Lexi Mercer flirted with a double-double as Rosewood knocked off defending Carolina 1-A Conference regular-season and tournament champion Lakewood 25-17, 25-21, 25-21 on Thursday afternoon.
A senior middle hitter, Mercer recorded 13 kills, seven blocks and two digs. Ada Rivera (three kills), Payton Lane and Kaitlyn Kincaid combined for 24 assists. Tayzlie Tripple contributed four kills, one block and one dig.
Hailey Weeks recorded three kills. Macy Tyndall and Carrie Becker logged six and four digs, respectively, on defense.
The Eagles (5-6 overall, 4-2 CC) visit North Duplin next Tuesday.
