Chargers drop CPIC volleyball opener

GREENVILLE -- Pope John Paul II Catholic High School rebounding from an opening-set loss to defeat Wayne Country Day 19-25, 25-23, 25-3, 25-19 on Thursday afternoon.
It was the Coastal Plains Independent 1-A/2-A opener for both teams.
Dekiya Thomas served four aces for the Chargers. Teammates Lillian Freeman and Olivia Dively supplied six and five kills, respectively.
Wayne Country Day (3-14 overall, 0-1 CPIC) entertains Freedom Christian next Tuesday.
