Rosewood squeezes past Spring Creek in volleyball

Rosewood rebounded from an early deficit and knocked off county rival Spring Creek 12-25, 25-20, 22-25, 27-25, 15-11 in Carolina 1-A Conference action Tuesday afternoon.
Ada Rivera dished out 18 assists and collected two kills. Tayzlie Tripple contributed nine kills, one dig and one block. Lexi Mercer pounded out a team-high 14 kills to go along with two assists, two digs and one block.
Payton Lane played a solid floor game -- six kills, seven assists and three digs.
McKinley Edmondson delivered 23 assists for the Gators. Daisy Martinez had 12 kills and two blocks. Kayla Herring served three aces. Lexie Reyes led the defense with seven digs.
The Eagles (4-6 overall, 3-2 CC) play host to defending conference champion Lakewood on Thursday.
