* Girls' tennis: Rocky Mount Academy 7, Wayne Country Day 2 -- Hanna McKeithan and Nancy Chen each picked up a singles win for WCDS. The Chargers travel to Arendell-Parrott Academy today.

* Boys' soccer: Wayne Country Day 3, Rocky Mount Academy 1 -- Marquise Newell collected two goals in the Chargers' road win Tuesday afternoon. Frank Best provided a goal. Neyhamia Shaw and DJ Drew logged one assist apiece. The Chargers (4-0-0 overall) play host to Oakwood on Thursday.

* Volleyball: Rocky Mount Academy d. Wayne Country Day 25-13, 25-15 -- Jaden DisDier served two aces for WCDS. Teammates Lexi Jeffreys and Reagan Talton had one kill and one ace apiece. Katie Strickland and Cate Eagles each provided one ace and one assist. The Chargers (1-3 overall) visit Oakwood on Thursday.

* Volleyball: Rocky Mount d. North Lenoir 25-18, 25-23 -- Talaysia Evans led NL with four kills and two blocks. The Hawks scored 12 points with Kelsie Stocks on serve.

* Volleyball: Rosewood d. Hobbton 20-25, 25-17, 25-21 -- Braylee Butts served an ace and collected a dig in the Eagles' comeback win. Jala Holloman had two aces, while Maddie Honn registered two kills. The Eagles (4-3 overall, 1-0 CC) visit Princeton on Thursday.

* Volleyball: Princeton d. James Kenan 25-11, 25-22 -- The Bulldogs improved to 3-3 overall this season.

* Volleyball: Southern Wayne d. Goldsboro 25-6, 17-25, 25-10 -- Fayth Serlick led Goldsboro's defense with 10 digs.

Middle schools

* Volleyball: Wayne Country Day d. Rocky Mount Academy 25-18, 25-11 -- Katie Strickland paced the Chargers with six aces, two digs and three assists. Cate Eagles had four aces, two kills, two digs and three assists. Summer Daniels (three aces, one kill) and Lexi Jeffreys (two aces, three kills, two digs) also contributed to the straight-set win. The Chargers remained unbeaten in three outings this season.
