MOUNT OLIVE -- First-year University of Mount Olive head women's soccer coach Reid Clewis has announced the addition of six recruits to his program.

The group includes four freshmen and two transfers. Bradyn Carpenter, Kara Scott, Fabiana Alcala and Kaylee Larson comprise the freshman. Carly Siney Moran and Brooke Smith are the transfers.

"I'm very excited about the young ladies we've added in this class," Clewis said. "The players that we are adding are capable of playing multiple positions and will allow us to continue to build on our successful spring season. They contain the character that will continue to raise the program's profile both on and off the field."

Carpenter, a goalie, played prep soccer at Salem Baptist Christian HS in Winston-Salem. Scott is a midfielder/defender from Chesapeake, Va. She was a four-year member on the Greenbrier Christian Academy academic honor roll. Scott also serves on the Jeremiah Project -- a mission ministry that specializes in providing short-team mission trips for middle school participants.

Alcala is a midfielder from Hanoi, Vietnam. She attended Ronald Reagan HS and emerged as the leading goal scorer for the American Bison.

Larson is from New Bern. She paced the Havelock HS offense with 17 goals and played for the OCSA Coastal Crew team coached by former UMO men's soccer player Kirk Peterson.

Moran is a defender/midfielder from Dublin, Ireland. Carly helped Coffeyville Community College to a league-best 14 wins, a first-ever national ranking and berth in the NJCAA Region VI tournament.

Smith was Moran's teammate Coffeyville CC. She started 11 games and played in 14 overall. She earned a spot on the academic all-conference team. As a senior at Spring Hill HS, she twice earned all-state accolades.

The Trojans launch their 2015 campaign at home Sept. 4 against Peach Belt member Georgia College in the UMO Kickoff Classic. Game time is 7 p.m. at Amon Field.
