GREENVILLE -- With a fan base second to none, the East Carolina University Department of Athletics has developed an initiative -- with the citizens of Greenville and Pitt County in mind -- as a way to give back and provide them with a special gift to say thank you for their continued support.

ECU Athletics is proud to announce the creation of the "Community Corner" at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium starting this football season. The "Community Corner" will save fans -- on average -- over 80 percent off their single-game ticket purchase while hopefully strengthening the size, interest and passion of Pirate Nation on game days.

The "Community Corner" includes nearly 1,200 reserved seats in Sections 213 and 214 and will feature tickets available on a single-game basis for the rate of only $10 per ticket. All home games this season, including Virginia Tech, will be made available.

However, customers will only be allowed to select one game and only able to purchase up to four tickets for that game. This purchasing structure will provide more members of the local community to take advantage of this opportunity.

Online tickets went on sale today.

"Our desire is to give everyone in our community and the surrounding region a chance to experience the passion of Pirate Football in Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium," said Jeff Compher, ECU director of athletics. "This Christmas in July offer provides a very affordable opportunity for families, friends and fans to be a part of the exciting game day atmosphere of ECU football."

Sales for single-game ticket locations begin Monday at 9 a.m. Three-game mini packages are available for $135 and can be purchased through ecupirates.com.

ECU launches its 2015 season at home Sept. 5 against Towson. Kickoff is 6 p.m.
