Rosewood's Grantham to coach East All-Star girls' basketball squad in 2016

GREENSBORO -- Second-year Rosewood High head varsity girls' basketball coach Rick Grantham has been selected as the head girls' coach for the 2016 N.C. Coaches Association East All-Star team next summer.
In just two seasons, Grantham has guided Rosewood to back-to-back appearances in the N.C. High School Athletic Association Class 1-A eastern regional championship game.
The Eagles claimed Conference Carolina regular-season titles in 2014 and 2015.
Grantham's assistant coach is Lula Ratley of Robeson HS. Ike Walker has been named the head coach of the East boys' All-Star squad. His assistant is Douglas Erny of Jacksonville.
On the West side, Jimmy Cleveland (Smoky Mountain) is the girls' head coach Alexander Central's Ed Wills is the assists. Ike Walker (Jack Britt) and Douglas Erney (Jackonsville) comprise the boys' East All-Star hoops coaching staff.
Boys' occer coaches are Clinton's Brad Spell (East) and Bartlett-Yancey's Lynn Massey. The girls' All-Star teams are directed by Chris Hadlock (East Montgomery) and Kenan James (East Bend Forbush).

East: Head coach Tom Nelson. Assistant coaches: Don Andrews (Corinth-Holders), Paul Cornwell (Ayden-Grifton), David Perry (Croatan), Bill Sochova (Pine Forest) and Beau Williams (Jacksonville).
Cornell has guided A-G to the last two Carolina 1-A Conference regular-season championships.
Beau Williams is the brother of former Eastern Wayne head coach Bubba Williams, who led his team to consecutive runner-up finishes in the eastern regional 3-A championship game.
West: Head coach Clay Lewis (Hibriten). Assistant coaches: Curtis Cagle (North Buncombe),, Tim Carson (Weddington), Bill Hall (Pittsboro Northwood), Davie Hunt (Davie County) and Marty Scotten (Siler City Jordan-Matthews).
