MOUNT OLIVE -- Fourth-year University of Mount Olive head women's lacrosse coach Grant Kelam has signed 13 recruits -- 11 incoming freshmen and two junior college transfers -- to play for the Trojans next spring.

The freshmen are Skye Bradley, Ciara Curran, Casey Gover, Kristin Guerra, Zoey Guignardi, Kendall Holycross, Sadie Michael, Krystina Miller, Mikayla Sindel, Kaitlyn Stockstad and Sam Thomson. The JUCOs are Michaela Ciciarelli and Caitlyn Hamilton.

"We are very excited to have this recruiting class on campus at UMO," said Kelam, who began the women's lacrosse program in 2013. "They bring a lot more than just their athletic ability to the table and they will be valued assets to our young program. This class has added depth at all positions, which is something we will count on as the season goes on to achieve more success."

UMO posted a 15-3 record and emerged as the 2015 Conference Carolinas champion with a 7-6, double-overtime triumph over perennial powerhouse Limestone (S.C.) College. The Trojans were ranked No. 9 in the final Nike/LaxMagazine top 20 poll.

Some of the recruits' highlights:

* Michael: the Archbishop Jordan Catholic HS graduate was named to Team Alberta (Canada) and her Junior team recorded three consecutive unbeaten campaigns;
