Plenty of spots remain open for two mid-summer baseball camps at the University of Mount Olive.

* A three-day instructional camp begins July 13 and is open to players ages 9- to 14-years-old. Registration begins at noon on July 13 and the fee is $225 for day campers and $300 for boarders. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided for camp boarders. Day campers will receive lunch and dinner.

A 10-percent discount is available for players of UMO employees, one or more siblings from the same family and teams (nine or more players).

Campers are reminded to bring a glove, cleats, tennis shoes, pants, shirts and personal gear to play baseball. Catchers should bring their own gear.

* A college prospect camp is July 20-22 at Scarborough Field on the UMO campus. The camp is open to players in grades nine through 12 and is designed for the serious baseball player. Instruction will be advanced, yet tailored to players of all abilities and skill levels.

Registration and check-in is noon on July 20. The fee for boarders is $300 and day campers is $225. The camp follows the same guidelines mentioned in the three-day instructional camp conducted the previous week.

For more information on these camps, contact UMO volunteer assistant coach Jesse Lancaster at (919) 658-7715 or email jlancaster@umo.edu.
