Cougars' season on soccer pitch ends at Croatan

NEWPORT -- Injured goalie Courtney Sutton and back-up keeper Kay-lin Bethune combined for seven saves in Goldsboro's season-ending, 9-0 mercy-rule loss to Croatan in the N.C. High School Athletic Association 1-A playoffs Wednesday evening.
GHS head coach Leah Andres said Ivey Wade, Timaya Williams, Anna Prezbindowski and Juanita Cortes-Torres each attempted a shot on goal.
The Cougars concluded the year 6-10-4.
