Rebels slip past Tigers in Carolina 1A baseball

North Duplin edged James Kenan 5-4 in a Carolina 1-A Conference game on Monday night.
Trey Pate had two hits for the Rebels, including a triple and drove in three runs. Cedrick Kornegay and Kaleb Brock also each had two hits.
Dustin Carter earned the mound win and Kornegay got the save, holding off a late James Kenan comeback.
North Duplin (7-4 overall, 5-2 CC) plays host to Rosewood today.
