Aycock girls race past Greene Central in track

SNOW HILL -- Distance runner Mackenzie Stewart emerged victorious in the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs, and Charles B. Aycock cruised past Greene Central, 78-59, on the James R. Fulghum Athletic Complex track.
Stewart also ran the opening leg on the 3,200 relay that placed first. She was joined by Anna Greenwell, Tara Price and Taylor Daniels.
Courtney Warner captured the 200 and 400 dashes. Laura Cline won the long jump, while Cyerra Carter captured first-place accolades in the high jump.
Second-place finishers were Quanika Lofton (100 hurdles), Sarah Gregory (1,600), Haley Lassiter (800), Daniels (200), Price (3,200), Abby Shenk (long jump), Brooke Accordino (discus) and Cline (high jump). Aycock's Price (1,600), Gregory (3,200) and Shylar Maki (high jump) each had a third-place showing in their respective event.
