Gators bounce back, drop Tigers

WARSAW -- Sawyer Smith gave up just one run on five hits on the hill for Spring Creek during its 8-2 victory over Carolina 1-A Conference foe James Kenan on Thursday.
Smith struck out four batters and made it through seven innings on 89 pitches.
The Gators strung together seven hits and took advantage of four Tigers errors. Allen Coor and Will Rouse each had two hits for the Gators. Chad Spurgeon drove in two runs.
Spring Creek (4-4 overall, 4-1 CC) return to action Apr. 9 in the annual two-day Deacon Jones Invitational at Princeton.
