MOUNT OLIVE -- Kodi Whitley and Gunnar Kines each earned their first mound decision of the season, and Jason Morozowski cranked out five hits as No. 13-ranked University of Mount Olive swept a non-conference doubleheader from Saint Anselm on Saturday afternoon.
Whitley permitted six hits and recorded 10 strikeouts in a six-inning stint during the Trojans' 11-2 victory in the opener. Kines scattered three hits and also posted 10 strikeouts in six innings -- an 8-4 win in the nightcap.
Morozowski batted 4-for-4 in game two with a double, an RBI and swiped four bases in four attempts. He added one hit in game one.
Whitley kept the Hawks off the board for five innings and received run support in the third and sixth innings. Up 4-2, Justin Manning connected on a lead-off double to start the sixth and advanced to third on a groundout.
Bretton Gouthro walked and stole second. Both runners scored on DeAndre Allen's base knock up the middle. It was Allen's lone hit in three official at-bats.
Jesse Schullstrom tossed three innings of two-hit, two-strikeout relief behind Whitley. Both of Saint Anselm's runs were earned.
In game two, the Trojans (4-1 overall) built a 6-0 lead through five innings. Chris Leduc supplied a first-inning, two-RBI double. Rob Shipman plated a third-inning run and drove in two fifth-inning runs. Justin Manning capped the scoring with an RBI single.
