PIKEVILLE -- Cam Kornegay swished the game-winning 3-pointer as time expired, and Charles B. Aycock stunned No. 9-ranked South Central, 49-48, on Friday evening.
Knotted at 43 after regulation, South moved in front 44-43 on a free throw. Kornegay answered with a go-ahead jumper and the visiting Falcons regained the lead, 46-45, with 30 seconds to go.
Aycock called its final timeout with 11.1 seconds left, which set up Kornegay's heroic finish. Kornegay finished with 12 points, while Bryce Jordan added 10.
Senior Jarde Spruill chipped in nine points.
The Golden Falcons travel to Eastern Wayne on Tuesday.
