WCDS, Wayne Christian battle at Family Y

Wayne Country Day's boys placed third overall during a six-team meet contested at B.G. Darden Natatorium inside the Goldsboro Family Y on Monday evening.
The Chargers' foursome of Nathan Rigdon, Charlie Dees, Michael Kalimnios and Zan Pittman took fourth in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 2 minutes, 10.97 seconds. The same group earned third in the 200 free relay in 1:53.14.
Pittman touched the wall first in the 500 free (5:27.75) and claimed second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.82.
Rigdon placed eighth in the 200 free (2:27.57). Kalimnios ended up sixth in the 100 free and seventh in the 100 back. Dees posted a 14th-place time in the 100 free and captured eighth overall in the 100 back.
Wayne Christian's Stephen Whitfield and Brady Sugg logged 23rd and 32nd place, respectively, in the 50 free.
On the girls' side, the WCDS quartet of Abby Skinner, Olivia Dively, Alison Bailey and Kate Thompson wound up seventh in the 200 medley relay in 2:45.3. Thompson and Bailey finished ninth and 11th, respectively, in the 50 free.
Anna Rendall (16th) and Emma Rendall (27th) emerged as Wayne Christian's top swimmers in the 50 free. Emma Rendall secured ninth in the 100 free in 1:16.36 and grabbed third in the 100 back in 1:23.2.
The Chargers' Bailey and Laurel Hinson took 14th and 18th, respectively, in the 100 free. Skinner was fifth in the 100 backstroke.
