Warrior matmen pick up two wins during Battle at Little Big Horn

Eastern Wayne logged a 2-2 worksheet during the Battle at Little Big Horn contested in New Hope.
The Warriors defeated Nash Central 52-21 and reigning Eastern Plains 2-A Conference champion Farmville Central 48-36.
John Amon (160 pounds), Justice Johnson (170), Andre Smith (195), Andre Collie (220), heavyweight Bryan Wooten, Mario Harper (106), Jykell McLamb (120), Cainen Miller (126) and Kyler Sprague (132) each claimed an individual win against Nash Central.
Johnson, Smith, Collie, Wooten, Harper, Miller, Sprague and Rudy Rosales (138) each triumphed against Farmville Central.
EW suffered defeats against Fike and Green Hope.
Smith, Sprague and Johnson each picked up a win against Fike. Johnson, Smith, Wooten, Miller, Sprague and Rosales each defeated their respective opponent in the Green Hope match.
The Warriors will enjoy a two-week holiday break before returning to action Jan. 3 in the annual Falcon Invitational, which is hosted by county archrival Charles B. Aycock.
