MOUNT OLIVE -- University of Mount Olive converted six of nine free throws in the final two minutes, and upended in-state Southeast Region men's basketball foe Wingate University, 75-63, on Wednesday evening.

Dominique Reed, Kendall Hargrove and JaQuan Blount each posted a double-double for the No. 13-ranked Trojans, who improved to 10-1 overall this season. Reed provided a season-high 21 points and snared 14 rebounds.

Hargrove collected 14 points and 12 rebounds. Blount logged 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Jordan McCain knocked down 11 points.

Blount's steal and breakaway layup ignited a six-point UMO run midway through the second half. Reed's two free throws pushed the Trojans' advantage to 59-52 before the Bulldogs, ranked No. 7 in the Southeast Region, closed to within 60-58.

Reed sparked another short scoring run that gave Mount Olive a 69-58 lead late in the half. Forced to foul, the Bulldogs put the Trojans on the free throw line and could never answer.

UMO held advantages in total rebounds (47-38), points off turnovers (19-18), second-chance points (17-9) and points in the paint (38-28).

The teams traded 16 lead changes.

The Trojans conclude the 2014 portion of their schedule at home Saturday against in-state foe Chowan University. Tip-off is 4 p.m. at Kornegay Arena.
