Rosewood grapplers earn 1-1 split at Holly Springs

HOLLY SPRINGS -- Rosewood and Triton each won three contested individual matches, but the Eagles prevailed 45-24 in non-conference action at Holly Springs High School.
Malique Boyd, Sam Drew and Kaleb Smith each defeated their respective opponent. Teammates Tanner Stevens, David Dotson, Joey Behrend, Dylan Melgar and Blake Dean each received a forfeit.
Holly Springs dealt Rosewood a 47-16 loss.
The Eagles' winners were Boyd, Behrend and Rayquon Jones.
Rosewood (6-2 overall) returns action Saturday in the 23rd annual Pierce-Davis Memorial at North Pitt High School.
