TEACHEY -- Wallace-Rose Hill used its speed and athleticism to eliminate Princeton, 42-20, from the N.C. High School Athletic Association Class 1-AA football playoffs Friday evening.

Princeton concluded its record-setting year 12-2 overall.

"I'm so proud of the guys and their effort," PHS head coach Derrick Minor said. "The guys didn't quit ... can't be disappointed in the character and their hard playing. That's a really good team. It's going to be a great game between Wallace and Kenan next week."

Wallace-Rose Hill entertains James Kenan in a rematch of last year's eastern regional championship won by its county archrival.

Princeton never found a rhythm in its run game as Wallace crowded the box with seven players. Florida State commit Johnny Frasier churned out a hard-earned 56 yards and a 8-yard touchdown run on 22 carries.

Wallace's defense allowed 96 total rushing yards.

Senior quarterback Michael Wooten threw for 262 yards and connected on TD strikes to Tanner Woodard and Cameron Jackson. Jackson ended the night with a game-high 113 yards on six receptions.

"We felt like our best threat was to spread it out and Mike had a great night throwing the ball," Minor said. "Mike is the type of kid that any time in the past when we've needed the passing game to be good, he's always stepped up. That's when he capitalizes.

"Cam had an unbelievable touchdown catch."

Wallace-Rose Hill erupted for 28 second-half points.

"They went man-to-man (against the pass), put seven in the box and put their best athletes on our best athletes, and we just couldn't get anything going," Minor said. "Once they broke one tackle, with their speed they were gone. They had unbelievable speed at every position."
