Mercer just misses double-double in Eagles' season-opening basketball game

Rosewood launched its 2014-15 season with a 67-36 romp over non-conference foe North Johnston.
Junior Lexi Mercer just missed a double-double with 28 points, nine steals and five rebounds. Krystal Yelverton contributed 13 points, five rebounds, three assists and seven steals.
Callie Thornton provided seven points and eight rebounds. Jala Holloman knocked down eight points.
The Eagles had 33 steals as a team.
