Chargers put final touches on CPIC tennis title

Wayne Country Day's first three singles players swept their opponents 6-0, 6-0 on their way to a 9-0 victory over Coastal Plains Independent 1-A/2-A Conference foe Freedom Christian Academy on Thursday.

The Chargers claimed the CPIC title outright.

Jennifer Potts, Ally Willman, Eliza Eagles, Anna Allen, Taylor Gumbish and Margaux Pope all took singles victories.

Potts-Willman, Eagles-Pope and Gumbish-Allen combined to lose just two games in their three doubles victories.

WCDS (15-1 overall) entertains Trinity of Raleigh on Tuesday.
