Hawks' offense erupts during 14-minute stretch

North Lenoir punched in three goals within a 14-minute span and handed Ayden-Grifton a 3-1 loss in Eastern Carolina 2-A Conference play Monday evening.
Trailing 1-0, the Hawks' Braxton Greene notched the equalizing goal seven minutes into the second half. Nic Kennedy scored on Greene's pass through the 18-yard box in the 58th minute, and Kennedy capped the scoring on Mike Bednarz's assist in the 61st minute.
Goalie Jacob Baird had four saves for the Hawks.
North Lenoir (7-10-1 overall, 4-1-0 ECC) entertains Kinston on Wednesday.
