Golden Falcons net 9-0 triumph over Greene Central

SNOW HILL -- Charles B. Aycock concluded regular-season play with a 9-0, non-conference triumph over Greene Central on Monday afternoon.
Ashton Walker, Cassidy Coerver, Casie Belom, Kassidy Pitchford, Sabrina Johnson and Emmie Collins each collected a straight-set singles win. Belom did not lose a game at No. 3 singles. Walker and Collins each dropped just three games.
Walker-Pitchford, Coerver-Belom and Johnson-Collins completed the sweep in doubles.
The Golden Falcons (16-1 overall) return to action Wednesday in the season-ending Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference tournament. Aycock will play host to the 3-A portion which determines the eastern regional qualifiers in singles and doubles play.
First serve is 2 p.m. on the Luke Vail Tennis Courts.
