CLAYTON -- Cleveland's defense held Southern Wayne to a season-low 63 yards of total offense in a 49-0, non-conference victory on Friday evening.
Tyaire Allen led the Saints' attack with 40 yards rushing. Quentin Moore added 16 yards receiving.
"We were short-handed due to injuries and other circumstances, but I thought the kids that played kept a positive attitude the whole game and competed on every play," SW head coach David Lee said. "We did cut down on some of our penalties and turnovers, which was a goal.
"Cleveland is a great team and we will try to build on the positives from the game."
The Saints (1-4 overall) return to action Oct. 3 at home against county foe C.B. Aycock. Kickoff is 7 p.m. at the Doyle Whitfield Athletic Complex.
