North Duplin turns back Rosewood in volleyball

Rosewood was without setter Ada Rivera and dropped a 25-9, 19-25, 25-28, 19-25, 10-15 decision to Carolina 1-A Conference foe North Duplin on Tuesday.
Macy Tyndall logged 17 assists in Rivera's absence. Lexi Mercer smashed 15 kills and had seven blocks for the Eagles. Callie Thornton chipped in five digs.
Haley Brogden had five aces and seven kills to lead the Rebels. Chesney Brown had nine blocks and six kills and Elizabeth Thornton had 12 digs. Rylee Pate and Ashley Thornton handed out 14 and 12 assists, respectively.
Rosewood (8-6 overall, 4-3 CC) travels to Hobbton on Thursday. North Duplin (4-5, 3-4) returns to action next Tuesday at league-leading Lakewood.
