North Duplin triumphs in penalty-kick shootout

NEWTON GROVE -- North Duplin needed seven rounds in a penalty-kick shootout to defeat Hobbton, 5-4, in Carolina 1-A Conference play on Monday evening.
Simon Arellano and Jhonatan Paez-Herrera each scored twice in regulation for the Rebels. Ronaldo Castenada recorded two assists.
The teams battled through two 10-minute overtime sessions before heading into the shootout. ND keeper Luis Martinez (10 saves) blocked Hobbton's fifth and seventh PK attempts to seal the outcome.
Perez had the game-winning PK for the Rebels.
