Sauls scores 52 in Aycock's first ECC match of season

Charles B. Aycock freshman Abby Sauls carded a 52 and finished seventh individually during the first Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference match of the season at Lane Tree Golf Club.
Rachel Boulanger and Anna Williams posted nine-hole rounds of 57 and 62, respectively, for the Golden Falcons, who finished fourth among scoring teams.
South Central's Gina Smith claimed medalist honors with a 42.
New Bern, which had several golfers among the top seven, emerged as the team leader with a 134. D.H. Conley logged a 140, followed by South Central at 150.
A total of 19 girls participated in the match.
The ECC teams return to action Sept. 9 at Brook Valley CC in Greenville.
