OFFENSE -- Ken Avent III, James Kenan. The sophomore quarterback threw for a career-high 247 yards and four touchdowns, and rushed for another 61 yards and a touchdown in the Tigers' 45-33 shootout loss to county archrival Wallace-Rose Hill.
DEFENSE -- Nick Strickland, Spring Creek. Recorded a career-best 10 stops on a defensive unit that forced five turnovers and turned two into touchdowns during a 19-0 victory over Lejeune. The Gators won a season-opening game for the first time since 2002.
