Caviness scores ace
* Durand Caviness carded his first-ever hole-in-one during a round of golf Saturday on the Goldsboro Municipal Golf Course links.
Caviness used a 5-wood to ace hole No. 4.
Mark and Tony Renfroe witnessed Caviness' feat.
JV sports
* Boys' soccer: Wayne Christian 7, Antioch Christian 0 -- Holden Foster, Jaxon Anderson and Skyler Price recorded two goals apiece in the Eagles' road win. Jeremy Bentley provided one goal. Wayne Christian keeper Will White had four saves and the shutout between the pipes.
