DUDLEY -- Wayne County Post 11 begins its postseason run at home tonight against Windsor Post 37 in semifinal-round action of the Area I East Division playoffs.
Game time is 7 p.m. at the Doyle Whitfield Athletic Complex.
The best-of-five series continues Tuesday at Bertie High School, with game three at the DWAC on Wednesday. The teams will alternate home sites if the fourth and fifth games are necessary.
Two-time defending Area I East champ Pitt County Post 39 and Wilson Post 13 begin their best-of-five series tonight at Minges-Overton Field in Greenville. Game two is Tuesday at historic Fleming Stadium in Wilson.
Top-seeded Wayne County (10-4-1 overall) claimed a pair of mercy-rule wins over Windsor during regular-season play.
A second-year team, Windsor swept Kinston 2-0 in its best-of-three quarterfinal-round series this past weekend.
The Area I East champion automatically qualifies for the season-ending, eight-team state tournament at Lexington. Wayne County last appeared in the state tournament in 2011, and has finished state runner-up on six occasions in program history.
